Description: Clary sage is a short biennial or perennial herb that grows up to 3 feet in height. It has large, hairy leaves with small bluish-purple flowers.

Uses: Recent data indicates that Clary Sage naturally estrogen and progesterone levels. Clary sage is also viewed by aromatherapists as an antidepressant, and antispasmodic, deodorant, emmenagogue, hypotensive, nervine, sedative, tonic and uterine. It is well known for providing a euphoric action, for balancing uterine issues, and as an agent to clean greasy hair. There is also some documentation of its effectiveness in helping to relax the spasms of asthma.

Aromatherapy influences: Enhances ones ability to dream, is calming and stress relieving.

Shodhana essential oils are for external use only, do not take internally. For Massage, it is recommended you use with a carrier oil.

Mixes well with: Clary sage essential oil blends well with generally any essential oil, though it works particularly well with Bergamot, Cedarwood, Roman and German Chamomile, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli, Orange, Rosewood, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang

Safety Information: Avoid if pregnant or breast feeding. Do not use on babies or small children. Do not use around pets, as it can be toxic in higher doses. May cause irritation to sensitive skin, however it is rare. Please do a patch test, first, before applying in large amounts. Do not use in baths. Should not be used in conjunction with homeopathic remedies, as it may act as an antidote.
